Nettet6. apr. 2024 · Here, we report that patterned optogenetic stimulation of the hypothalamic supramammillary nucleus (SuM) enhances AHN in two distinct AD mouse models, 5×FAD and 3×Tg-AD. Strikingly, the chemogenetic activation of SuM-enhanced adult-born neurons (ABNs) rescues memory and emotion deficits in these AD mice.
Learning hypothalamic nuclei
Did you know?
NettetThe posterior hypothalamic nucleus is a fairly large group of cells occupying the dorsal part of the periaqueductal central gray. The unpaired supramammillary nucleus is dorsal to the mammillary body and projects to the hippocampus, dentate gyrus, and medial septum diagonal band nuclei. NettetThe hypothalamic nuclei are divided by size into two main types: magnocellular and parvocel- lular. The magnocellular are neuroendocrine neurons, among the largest in the brain, which synthesize and secrete oxytocin and arginine vasopressin (AVP), also called antidiuretic hormone (ADH).
The hypothalamus is divided into three regions (supraoptic, tuberal, mammillary) in a parasagittal plane, indicating location anterior-posterior; and three areas (periventricular, medial, lateral) in the coronal plane, indicating location medial-lateral. Hypothalamic nuclei are located within these specific regions and areas. It is found in all vertebrate nervous systems. In mammals, magnocellular neurosecretory cells in the paraventricular nucleus and the supraoptic nucleus of th… NettetAbout Press Copyright Contact us Creators Advertise Developers Terms Privacy Policy & Safety How YouTube works Test new features Press Copyright Contact us Creators ...
