The main caps are also much beefier. The main cap holes are blind for added strength and is cast out of a higher nickel material.

The problem was no so much the block as everything in it. The 351 sportsman block is the next step up and quite a deal at just over $1,000.It is delivered already machined.

They just down-graded that block to 450hp from I think 600hp. They obviously have some concerns advertising it at a max of 600hp.
